Project of Cross-Border Cooperation of Czech and Saxon Inspectors was terminated in Meissen

On 28 April 2011, the final conference to the project of cross-border cooperation implemented by the Czech Agriculture and Food Inspection Authority and the Saxon Ministry for Social Affairs and Consumer Protection was held in Meissen. Results of the project and options of future collaboration were outlined during the conference.

Managerial Training System successfully launched

Czech Agriculture and Food Inspection Authority in Brno has launched implementation of the “Managerial Training System to Enhance Capacity and Efficiency of the Czech Agriculture and Food Inspection Authority” project, registration No. CZ.1.04/4.1.00/58.00001, which is funded through the Operational Programme for Human Resources and Employment (OP HRE) under the framework of the European Social Fund.

Hazelnut seeds infected with pests were withdrawn from the market

The Czech Agriculture and Food Inspection Authority (CAFIA) banned marketing of product NATURE PARK Hazelnut Seeds (best before date 28. 7. 2012, packaging á 100 g) originating from Georgia. Hazelnut seeds were infected with adult insects and with larvae. Evidence suggesting insect activity, for example webs, defected fruits or residues of larvae activity, has been found in packaging.

Pudding dessert from Poland with mould has been withdrawn from the market

The Czech Agriculture and Food Inspection Authority banned marketing of the product Dr. Oetker PAULA Choco (product size 400 g; 4 pcs multi-pack (4 x 100 g), lot identification L 16 6Y 4/5 and L 17 9Y 4/5, use by date 24. 3. 2011) originating from Poland. CAFIA inspectors found the presence of mould on the surface of above mentioned product.

CAFIA did not release contaminated raisins from China into circulation

In recent days, inspectors of the Czech Agricultural and Food inspections managed in cooperation with the Customs Administration of the CR to detain a shipment of raisins from China, which was destined for European markets.
