The Czech Agriculture and Food Inspection Authority (CAFIA) ordered to withdraw one lot of cornflakes Emco from circulation and to relabel it due to detected occurrence of soya protein that was not indicated on the product labelling. This protein may pose a risk for consumers allergic to soya.
Namely, it is product with denomination “Kukuřičné lupínky Velké křupavé”, packaging weight à 750g, lot L11-01883, made in Germany for Emco spol. s. r. o.
CAFIA imposed a measure ordering that the product shall be withdrawn from circulation and relabelled before put into circulation again in the way declaring presence of the soya protein sufficiently. With regard to the best before date, consumers still may have the non-relabelled product at home.
Information on the product was handed into the Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed (RASFF) that notifies the other Member States of the European Union of unwholesome goods as well.
