Pudding dessert from Poland with mould has been withdrawn from the market

The Czech Agriculture and Food Inspection Authority banned marketing of the product Dr. Oetker PAULA Choco (product size 400 g; 4 pcs multi-pack (4 x 100 g), lot identification L 16 6Y 4/5 and L 17 9Y 4/5, use by date 24. 3. 2011) originating from Poland. CAFIA inspectors found the presence of mould on the surface of above mentioned product.

Pine nuts seeds have been withdrawn from the market

The Czech Agriculture and Food Inspection Authority ordered to withdraw from the circulation product “Pine nuts seeds” (product weight 50 g, best before date 25. 4. 2011, lot identification L011) originating from China. CAFIA inspectors found out that an unpleasant bitter taste appears in the mouth after ingesting this food. This taste persists for several days and increases especially when consuming any other food. Then it fades away by itself.

One of the Lidl shops had to be closed down

CAFIA warns consumers against unsafe food

The National Contact Point for RASFF received through the Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed (RASFF) information about distribution of unsafe food in the CR. They are milk puddings: Landliebe Grieâpudding Traditionell and Landliebe Grieâpudding Zimt (best before date 10. 03. 2011, weight 150 g) and Landliebe Grieâpudding Traditionell, Landliebe Grieâpudding Zimt, Landliebe Grieâpudding Milchschokolade and Landliebe Grieâpudding Vanille (best before date 04. 03. 2011, weight 150 g). FrieslandCampina Germany GmbH is the producer of the food in question.

Inspections have not revealed foodstuffs containing unauthorised genetic modifications

In the previous year, the Czech Agriculture and Food Inspection Authority (CAFIA) carried out an extensive inspection focused on detection of genetic modifications in foodstuffs offered on the Czech market. The use of genetically modified raw materials is possible in the European Union, however, only a modification approved by the European Commission could be the case.

EU member states, linked together with this system, inform one another about the risky food and feed in the European market.
