CAFIA banned using of storehouse with foodstuffs in Hroznětín in Karlovy Vary Region

Inspectors of the Czech Agriculture and Food Inspection Authority in Plzeň carried out an inspection at the storehouse with foodstuffs in Hroznětín. The inspection was carried out in the presence of the Police of the CR. Due to detected serious deficiencies, CAFIA banned on the spot using of these premises for storing and also banned marketing of the foodstuffs that were stored there.

CAFIA banned sale of smoked halibut from Poland

The Czech Agriculture and Food Inspection Authority found bacteria listeria monocytogenes in an official sample of halibut smoked with cold smoke.

Bacteria found in bottled water Aquilla Aqualinea are not pathogenic

The National Reference Laboratory for E. coli and shigella of the National Institute of Public Health in Prague finished today the laboratory analysis of bacteria Escherichia coli detected by the Czech Agriculture and Food Inspection Authority during official inspection in bottled water with trade name "Aquila Aqualinea" in the lot with best before date by 20.5.2012.

CAFIA has ordered to withdraw bitter pine nuts

Czech Agriculture and Food Inspection Authority has ordered to withdraw from circulation some batches of products that contained pine nuts. According to the inspectors´ findings, their consumption caused so-called "pine mouth syndrome",i.e. taste disturbance that can last for several days or weeks after consumption.
