CAFIA detects further imported vegetables with pesticides above limits

CAFIA inspections carried out in domestic market network found further lots of fresh vegetables from abroad at which laboratory analyses confirmed presence of pesticides exceeding the limits. Occurrence of these serious deficiencies were detected in retail, in wholesale as well as at importers.

CAFIA inspectors currently detected following lots:

Pekinese cabbage, lot: 0901, country of origin: Poland. Laboratory analysis confirmed presence of herbicide fluazifop-P amounting to 0.11 mg/kg (milligrams per kilogram, limit is: 0.01 mg/kg). Place of sampling: Penny Market s.r.o., Dobřany, Osoblaho 1275, 33441; supplier: TOTAL PRODUCE CZECH S.R.O., Brno.

Kale, lot: 18.02.2019, country of origin: Poland. Laboratory analysis confirmed presence of pesticide chlorpyrifos amounting to 0.048 mg/kg (limit: 0.01 mg/kg). Place of sampling: MILOSLAV VITERA, Hradecká 324, Přelouč 53501; supplier: Efes, spol. s r.o., Pardubice.

Pekinese cabbage – first grade, country of origin: Poland. Laboratory analysis confirmed presence of pesticide flonicamid amounting to 0.27 mg/kg (limit: 0.03 mg/kg). Place of sampling: Ladislav Dokoupil, Masarykovo náměstí 2031/13, Boskovice 68001; supplier: HASPOL spol.s r.o., Náměšť nad Oslavou.

Bean husks – first grade, lot: 5126171, country of origin: Morocco. Laboratory analysis confirmed presence of pesticide clofentezin amounting to 0.08 mg/kg (limit: 0.02 mg/kg). Place of sampling: ČEROZFRUCHT s.r.o., Velká Bystřice, Olomoucká 988, 78353; supplier: ČEROZFRUCHT – Nehvizdy.

CAFIA will initiate an administrative procedure on imposition of a fine with the inspected persons.
