Inspection of the Czech Agriculture and Food Inspection Authority (CAFIA) found an uncompliant lot of foodstuff “Pekinese cabbage” at the premises of company TEMPO trading co-operative, Hlučínská 727, Bolatice 74723. This detection was made within an inspection targeted at foreign substances in fresh fruit and vegetables.

Fresh Pekinese cabbage in free sale from a container, country of origin: Poland was concerned. CAFIA laboratory analysis confirmed contamination by pesticide flonicamid amounting to 0.096 milligrams per kilogram (mg/kg). However, relevant piece of legislation prescribes maximum permitted limit for presence of flonicamid as no more than 0.03 mg/kg.
