A retail business operator with its seat in another EU Member State or in a third country shall make a registration at CAFIA before the commencement of placing tobacco products on the market by distance sale to real or possible consumers in the Czech Republic The obligation is laid down by Section 13c Para 3 of Act No. 110/1997 Coll., on Foodstuffs and Tobacco Products and on amendment to some related Acts, as amended.

The announcement, on which basis the registration is carried out, shall contain information indicated in Section 24 Para 1 of Decree 261/2016 Coll., on Tobacco Products. Pursuant to Section 24 Para 2, the announcement shall be provided in electronic form by means of remote data transmission.

A retail business operator with is its seat in another EU Member State or in a third country shall send the filled registration form “Announcement of retail business operator offering tobacco products by means of cross-border distance sale" to e-mail address epodatelnaszpi.gov.cz.
