The Czech Agriculture and Food Inspection Authority (CAFIA) warns consumers about two batches of non-compliant food products:

• Corn-fed chicken wings, batch number: 0021941173, use-by date: 23 July 2026, country of origin: Romania, veterinary identification mark: RO 100 EC
• Fresh chicken leg quarters, batch number: 0091980466, use-by date: 26 July 2026, country of origin: Romania, veterinary identification mark: RO 100 EC

Laboratory analysis confirmed the presence of the bacterium Salmonella in the specified batches of the food products. Salmonella is the causative agent of salmonellosis.

Inspectors collected samples from both non-compliant batches at the premises of Lidl Česká republika s.r.o., Pražská 2174/0, 393 01 Pelhřimov.

As the products in question have already passed their use-by dates, they are no longer available on the market. However, CAFIA strongly recommends that all consumers who may have the products stored at home in a frozen state do not consume them. Freezing has practically no effect on bacterial contamination.

The Czech Agriculture and Food Inspection Authority has submitted notifications to the European Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed (RASFF) so that further investigation can be carried out in the country of origin.

CAFIA will initiate administrative proceedings with the inspected entity concerning the imposition of a fine.
