The Czech Agriculture and Food Inspection Authority (CAFIA) ordered company Kaufland Česká republika v.o.s. to immediately withdraw non-compliant tinned meat product – BEST Premium Lunch, packaged à 110 g, best before date by: 04 05 23, seller: Laska Dalboss spol. s r.o., Prague, country of origin: Poland, ellipse: PL 30070303 WE. The product in question has to be withdrawn from all branches of Kaufland company.

The producer stated, inter alia, on the labelling: pork meat 70%, mechanically separated chicken meat 6%. However, a laboratory analysis confirmed presence of meat in the lot in question amounting to 59.6% only. Information on the labelling was thus misleading as regards the real content of meat.

CAFIA inspectors ordered immediate withdrawal of the non-compliant lot from all branches and also ordered the seller to have next five lots tested at his own expenses in an accredited laboratory, which will confirm that foodstuffs are not misleadingly labelled as regards their content of meat.

CAFIA will initiate an administrative procedure on imposition of a fine with the inspected person.
