Two cases of misleading of consumers regarding the content of meat were detected by inspectors of the Czech Agriculture and Food Inspection Authority (CAFIA) during an inspection of meat products placed on the market by company Lidl Česká republika v.o.s., Na Okrouhlíku 1707/25a, Hradec Králové.

In the lots of meat products mentioned below and produced by company PAMAPOL S.A., street Wieluńska 2, 97-438 Rusiec, Poland, lower content of meat than indicated on the labelling was confirmed as follows:

- Pikok Kuřecí maso - Sterilovaný masný výrobek – preserved poultry in tin, weight à 280 g, best before date by: 23.11.2020. lot: L 15583.  Compared to 80% of meat, which was indicated on the labelling, the analysis confirmed presence of 72.1% meat only.

- Pikok Chalupářské vepřové maso - Sterilovaný masný výrobek preserved pork in tin, weight à 300 g. Best before date by: 20.12.2020, lot: L 17660. Compared to 89% of meat, which was indicated on the labelling, the analysis confirmed presence of 78.9% meat only.

CAFIA ordered the inspected person to withdraw the lot in question from the market and to carry out analyses of the meat content at five further lots of these foodstuffs in an accredited laboratory on the expenses of the inspected person.

CAFIA has already informed of similar detection (the same producer and type of the tin) in its press release. With regard to repeated detections of adulteration of this sort of commodity, CAFIA will continue with inspections with the same intensity.

CAFIA will initiate an administrative procedure on imposition of a fine with the inspected person.
