The Czech Agriculture and Food Inspection Authority (CAFIA) in cooperation with the Customs Authorities for the capital city of Prague detained a consignment of preserved bamboo sprouts in cans BAMBOO WHOLE 18 l CANNED in total amount of 2,079 pieces à 18 l, country of origin: China.

The consignment was heavily contaminated by mould and insect maggots on packages. Mould was also detected behind most of the lids and contamination of the content could not be thus excluded. A part of the cans was damaged by rust and inappropriate lid sealing caused that the content leaked among other packages. With regard to the mentioned deficiencies, supervisory authorities detained the consignment before its entry into the retail network in the CR and goods did not get to consumers.

Company CHINA FOOD International s.r.o., Mratínská 439/24, 190 00 Prague was the importer of the foodstuffs concerned. The products were sent by company Fujian Sanxin Food Stuffs Co., Ltd, Dongmen Development ZoneOf Songxi Fujian, China.
