The Czech Agriculture and Food Inspection Authority (CAFIA) received a notification on unsafe foodstuff distributed into the territory of the CR. The product in question is infant cereal mash Alnatura 4-zrnná nemléčná obilná kaše (four component cereal non-milk mash) à 250 g, producing lot 14.152.1, best before date by 30th November 2015, producer: Holle Baby food, Gmbh, Baselsrasse 11, Rehen, Switzerland. The information was received via the Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed (RASFF). Laboratory analysis detected presence of substance atropine. Atropine is ranged among tropane alkaloids which are substances toxic for humans if they are present in higher substances. The analysis of this lot showed presence of atropine amounting to 12.2 (μg/kg).
The consignment with the non-compliant lot was delivered from Germany in amount of 1,296 pieces, namely into the storage of company “dm-drogerie markt s.r.o.” and the product was subsequently distributed to the branches of the given retail chain.
The seller already started withdrawing all lots with best before date by 30th November 2015 and to the present time, 972 pieces were withdrawn. CAFIA will initiate an administrative procedure on imposition of a fine with the inspected person.
CAFIA recommends all consumers who may have the given foodstuff at home they do not eat it.
