The Czech Agriculture and Food Inspection Authority (CAFIA) closed premises of GiganTextil on Klejnarská street No. 863 in Kolín. It is a retail shop focused on sale of clothes with associated sale of foodstuffs. During the inspection carried out today, CAFIA found an extensive occurrence of rodents both on the selling area and in the background. The section where foodstuffs are sold is not separated from the sale of other goods. CAFIA also found one sort of foodstuffs outside the selling area that was bitten by mice.
With regard to the unacceptable conditions for putting foodstuffs into circulation, CAFIA imposed ban on the use of the premises which will remain applicable until the detected deficiencies are removed, which will be verified within a follow-up inspection. CAFIA ordered the operator to carry out thorough rodent extermination, overall cleaning and dispose the foodstuffs damaged by rodents. CAFIA will initiate an administrative procedure with the inspected person.
