During its inspection at premises of Tesco Stores ČR a.s. on Dr. E. Beneše in Česká Třebová, the Czech Agriculture and Food Inspection Authority (CAFIA) found two sorts of foodstuffs unsuitable for human consumption and ordered their immediate withdrawal from all its branches. The products concerned are:
- Apricots dried and stoned á 200 g, lot number: L21400062D, best before date: 22/12/2014, produced by: ENCINGER, spol. s r.o., Bratislava, country of origin: Turkey. Presence of living or dead pests was found in 32 packagings, out of the total number of 38. Moreover, inconvenient smell after fermentation was detected in all assessed pieces.
- Hazelnuts á 500 g, lot number: E02140022A, best before date: 23/03/2015, produced by: ENCINGER, spol. s r.o., Bratislava, country of origin: Georgia. About 15% of each packaging was contaminated by mould which was revealed within sensory assessment.
These foodstuffs were assessed as unsuitable for human consumption from the reason of spoiling, decomposition and contamination. CAFIA thus recommends all consumers they do not eat the lots mentioned in case they have them at home.
