CAFIA found food supplement with THC sold via Internet

The Czech Agriculture and Food Inspection Authority (CAFIA) took a sample of food supplement Tribulus 60cps with best before date by 7th November 2015, producer: S.C. PRO Nutrition Impex S.R.L., 405200 Dej, Cluj County, country of origin according to information on the label: EU, country of origin according to information in accompanying documentation: Romania. The sample was taken in internet shop www.suplement.cz. Laboratory analysis proved presence of tetrahydrocanbiol (also known as THC) amounting to 0.244 mg/kg in this producing lot. Regulation (EC) No. 178/2002does not allow presence of THC and that is why the lot in question failed to comply with requirements for food safety pursuant to the respective legislation. CAFIA will initiate an administrative procedure on imposition of a fine with operator of the Internet shop www.suplement.cz, Libor Erber from Náchod.
CAFIA entered the information on the detection of the non-compliant foodstuff into the European Rapid Alert System (RASFF).
