CAFIA closed down bakery in Mohelnice

07/05/2014

Because of serious and repeated violation of hygiene rules, the Czech Agriculture and Food Inspection Authority (CAFIA) imposed a ban on the use of the premises of company RAŠNEROVA PEKÁRNA s.r.o. in Mohelnice on Okružní street 179/25. During an inspection carried out on 3rd July, CAFIA found numerous traces pointing to the presence of rodents and ordered the operator to promptly remove the hygiene deficiencies that were detected and to carry out thorough extermination and sanitation. However, a follow-up inspection carried out the next day found out that the non-acceptable conditions in the area of hygiene of the premises remain the same and CAFIA therefore imposed a ban on the use of the premises directly on the spot. The ban will be lifted only upon the remedy of the detected deficiencies, which will be verified by a follow-up inspection. Namely the inspection of 4th July detected a presence of a living rodent at the production hall, numerous traces proving presence of rodents, in particular excrements in the area where bakery is produced, near production devices, near stored raw materials for production of food, and stored unpacked bakery products. CAFIA further found presence of crawling and flying insect in various development stages, in particular maggots, moths and yellow mealworm beetles.
CAFIA will initiate an administrative procedure with the operator.
