The Czech Agriculture and Food Inspection Authority (CAFIA) closed retail shop with foodstuffs “KONZUM, obchodní družstvo v Ústí nad Orlicí” in Vraclav No. 105 due to serious violation of hygiene regulations. During the inspection carried out today, CAFIA found presence of three dead rodents in the store of the premises, further mouse excrements directly on the sale area as well as in the background. Discarded bakery products gnawn by mice and affected by mould were also found out. Moreover, filth was found out within the premises. With regard to the fact that sufficient hygienic conditions for putting foodstuffs into circulation were not ascertained in the premises and effective procedures for regulation of rodents were not introduced here, CAFIA ordered to close the premises immediately. The Inspection Authority further ordered the operator to carry out a thorough sanitisation, rodent extermination and general cleaning as well as to remove the foodstuffs affected by mould.
The shop will remain closed until the imposed measures are fulfilled, which will be verified by a follow-up inspection. CAFIA will initiate an administrative procedure on imposition of a fine with the operator.
