The Czech Agriculture and Food Inspection Authority (hereinafter CAFIA only) closed down a warehouse for beverage production operated by the VUC Services s. r. o. for absolutely unsatisfactory hygienic conditions. On July 16th during the inspection of the place in Zvoleněves in Kladno area, CAFIA found out that tens of pallets with sugar stored in sack are exposed to risk of external contamination. The overall character of the warehouse was devastated, inner walls were covered with fungus, the floor was underflooded with slops included and many objects not related to food stocking were present. The stock was purposed for alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverage production. In total, the operator stored 350 tons of sugar and 30 tons of fructose in estimated value of 4 mils CZK.
Based on the above mentioned facts, CAFIA immediately put a ban on the use of area as the operator repeatedly breached the Regulation (ES) 852/2004 on the hygiene of foodstuffs. The Inspection Authority will launch an administrative sanction procedure against the company VUC Services s. r.o.
