The Czech Agriculture and Food Inspection Authority (hereinafter CAFIA only) on May 15, 2013 imposed ban on the use of the premises area of SPAR Česká obchodní společnost s.r.o. based on Náves 671, 76001 Zlín – Prštné due to serious violation of hygienic rules. It was the second ban on the use of premises area imposed by CAFIA this week. Reasons for both bans were findings of rodents’ presence and activities such as mouse excrements and food eaten pieces on the store area and on facilities area. After first ban from May 14, 2013 the premises operator undertook rodents’ extermination in the store and discarded foodstuffs affected by pests’ activities in compliance with the CAFIA provisions. However, during the repeated inspection on May 15, 2013 the CAFIA stated that rodent extermination and other undertook measures were not sufficient as in the other areas in the store Inspection Authority detected more traces of rodents’ activities and live mouse on shelves with oils.
CAFIA stated repeated violation of Regulation (EC) 852/2004. The premises operator did not ensure keeping of hygienic practices including insufficient protection of foodstuffs against the contamination. The operator of the premises adopted completely unsatisfactory measures of the pest control. Inspection Authority immediately imposed ban on the use of the premises and also ordered to discard all foodstuffs potentially contaminated by pests’ presence. The CAFIA regularly undertakes repeated inspection of the premises after imposing the ban of use of the area for pests’ presence to verify sufficiency of pests’ extermination.
