Project potravinynapranyri.cz has won the category Public Utility Services of the Czech internet award called Crystal Magnifying Glass 2012. The voters appreciated the websites where the information about unsafe, adulterated and poor-quality foodstuffs is published by the Czech Agriculture and Food Inspection Authority (hereinafter “CAFIA” only) in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture of the Czech Republic. More than 87,000 respondents took part and voted in all categories of the 7th Crystal Magnifying Glass survey.
“I am very glad that also an internet project of state administration proved to be useful, forward looking and popular. We would like to thank to all voters and web visitors. We regard your interest as appreciation of our work and we value it,” Jindřich Pokora, director of the Control, Laboratories and Certification Department of CAFIA and one of the project initiators, said on the ceremonial evening.
The web has been accessible to the public since 10th July 2012, and from that moment, nearly 1,400,000 visitors have attended it. The visitors spent here less than 5 minutes on average and opened more than 18 million pages. The aim of the project implemented by Futura Soft company is to inform consumers and protect both producers and sellers of safe and quality foodstuffs.
