Inspectors of the Czech Agriculture and Food Inspection Authority in Plzeň carried out an inspection at the storehouse with foodstuffs in Hroznětín. The inspection was carried out in the presence of the Police of the CR. Due to detected serious deficiencies, CAFIA banned on the spot using of these premises for storing and also banned marketing of the foodstuffs that were stored there.
The inspection revealed that food business operator Dung Pham Van stored chilled, frozen and packaged foodstuffs on the ground floor of the inspected premises. These foodstuffs were intended in particular for sale at the market halls in Potůčky and Hraničné near Kraslice. The Inspection Authority ascertained the whole storage in bad technical condition. Floors, walls and ceilings were covered with mould and heavily fouled. Coat was flaking off on some spots. Foodstuffs were stored both on pallets and directly on the floor. Also a representative of the State Veterinary Administration was present due to the finding of products of animal origin. About 50 kg of living carps were stored in a tub at the outside area of the premises. The inspectors also found intestines, disembowelled chilled chickens and tripe stored in a car. Mouse droppings were laying about the whole area of the storehouse including pallets with foodstuffs. In addition to that, the operator failed to register the storehouse at CAFIA, he did not fill the application until in the day of the inspection.
For those reasons, CAFIA immediately banned using of the storehouse and also marketing of the stored foodstuffs.
