CAFIA withdrew packed water Aquila from the market because of unsatisfactory results of microbiological tests

During the official control in the market chain inspectors of the Czech Agriculture and Food Inspection Authority (CAFIA) found a non-compliant sample of a product with the commercial name “AQUILA AQUALINEA non-carbonated, spring water”, best before date 20.5.12. In this product the coliform bacteria and bacteria Escherichia coli which are unacceptable for this type of product were detected by the contractual laboratory Eurofins.
CAFIA then carried out a check right by the producer, ordered to withdraw the product from the market and assigned to producer to inform businesses to which this product have been supplied. In line with the precautionary principle CAFIA sent immediately the sample to the National Reference Laboratory in order to exclude a possibility of STEC infection.
With regard to the best before date 20/05/2012, consumers may still have this product at home. CAFIA does not recommend its consumption.
