CAFIA is more precise about the news obtained from the German side concerning possible contamination of bio-cucumbers delivered to the CR.

The German side announced that analyses of bio-cucumbers that had been delivered also to Czech company Country Life revealed two cases of bacteria Escherichia Coli producing shiga-toxin (STEC), however, not type O 104 : H4, which is the originator of the outbreak spreading from the territory of the Northern Germany.
The German side thus recalled the warnings against further lots of cucumbers; the consignment delivered to the CR is kept in the RASFF system so far.
However, CAFIA, during laboratory analyses did not find any signs of contamination by STEC in that lot. CAFIA announced this fact immediately through the RASFF system to all European partners.
Based on the results from the National Reference Laboratory for E. Coli Infections, the Director General therefore decided to recall all measures applied to company Country Life.
