The Czech Agriculture and Food Inspection Authority banned production of company TOTO – production of delicatessen products, s.r.o based in Česká Skalice, as laboratory analyses revealed presence of bacteria Listeria monocytogenes in its products. Namely, the product in question was Rumcajs Salad (packaged in plastic cups à 140 g, use-by date 2. 5. 2010). In total, 30 kilograms of this salad were produced. The company was ordered to withdraw immediately this product from all purchasers. However, with respect to the use-by date, consumers still may have it at home. In such case, the Inspection Authority does not recommend eating it.
Based on imposed measures, company TOTO – production of delicatessen products, s.r.o. has now to carry out complete sanitisation of the premises and to carry out checking swabs of working surfaces and equipment. Distribution of other delicatessen products available on the company store and produced already before the imposition of the ban was suspended from precautionary reasons as well.
Not until the company submits laboratory analyses of checking swabs and products, the Inspection Authority will lift the ban on production and allow further distribution of suspended products.
