Inspection Authority banned rice noodles containing aluminium

11/27/2009

The Czech Agriculture and Food Inspection Authority banned sale of Vietnamese instant noodles as laboratory tests revealed that these noodles contained aluminium in the amount exceeding the limits set by the Ministry of Health for similar sorts of pasta. Namely, the name and batch of the product in question are as follows:
Instantní rýžové nudle široké - Instant wide rice noodles (packaging à 200g, best before 02.05.11, production date 03.05.09).
In total, 10 thousand pieces of the noodles mentioned above were imported from Vietnam to the Czech Republic by company Thusfood, Ltd. Even though the noodles do not pose an imminent threat to consumers, the Inspection Authority banned their further sale. 1630 pieces of this foodstuff were subsequently withdrawn from the retail network.
