The Czech Agriculture and Food Inspection Authority banned the sale of several batches of noodles imported from China to the Czech Republic by company F.W.Tandoori, Ltd. This kind of pasta contained levels of aluminium which exceeded the limits set by the Ministry of Health for similar cases. The ban applies to following products and batches:
Lucky Life Brand Quick Cooking Noodles (packaging à 500g, best before 30 October 2010)
Lucky Life Brand Quick Cooking Noodles (packaging à 500g, best before 30 September 2010)
Lucky Life Brand Pšeničné bezvaječné nudle – wheat egg-free noodles (packaging à 250g, best before 30 September 2010).
CAFIA ordered the immediate withdrawal of these foodstuffs from the market. Considering the character of the product in question and its best before date, consumers might have it at home as well. However, identified batches of noodles do not pose any health risk.
CAFIA notified of the case other EU member states through the Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed (RASFF).
