CAFIA banned production in LAHŮDKY-PALMA

12/21/2006

The Czech Agriculture and Food Inspection Authority today banned the company LAHŮDKY-PALMA spol. s r.o., (place of business Reinerova 4, 163 00 Praha 6 – Řepy) from producing delicatessen salads and other products made from the same risk raw materials as these salads. The ban applies until the company provides demonstrable evidence that the production of food is safe.

The ban was imposed because laboratory analysis of Pochoutkový salad (to be used by 17. 12.) determined the presence of Listeria monocytogenes in this salad. The producer dispatched the salad in plastic buckets of 10 kg.

Moreover, samples of Hermelínový salad and Potato salad were taken which were satisfactory.

Since the weekend, the CAFIA has been conducting intensive inspections focusing on the detection of Listeria. Up to yesterday, the inspectors had checked 41 production establishments, 50 shops and had taken 37 samples for analysis in laboratories.
