Food supplement for enhancing male potency contained sildenafil. It must not be sold

05/21/2007

Natural Medicaments Chrudim has to withdraw from the market food supplement Boom with a minimum durability date of 6 December 2008. Its sale was banned by the Czech Agriculture and Food Inspection Authority on 10 May. According to the results of laboratory analysis, this Boom batch contains sildenafil which cannot be sold without a prescription.

Natural marketed this product through Internet and supplied it to another seller – Unimoservis Praha. This company must not sell the food supplement too.

The Inspection Authority continued with inspections and checked the company Virtshop CZ Hradec Králové which imported Boom for Natural from Slovakia from its producer T-ray, Bratislava. At the time of the inspection, Virtshop had other packages of this food supplement in store, which, according to the CAFIA decision, must be withdrawn too.

Sildenafil is a medicinal substance which can have adverse effects, for example, on diabetics or cardiacs. The CAFIA recommends consumers who bought this product not use it and return it to the seller.
