The Czech Agriculture and Food Inspection Authority (CAFIA) detected two non-compliant lots of food supplement “WARRIOR LABS SPARTAN 90 caps.” sampled via e-shop www.profisports.net operated by Profisports Ltd., 20-22 Wenlock Road, N17 GU London. The e-shop in question is targeted at Czech consumers as well as it is available, inter alia, in Czech language and offers sale of goods for Czech crowns.
Laboratory analysis proved presence of anabolic steroids and following unauthorised substances in the food supplement concerned: androstanedione, androstenedione, boldenone, testosterone, l-dehydroandrostenedione, chlordehydromethyltestosterone and clostebol.
CAFIA sampled two lots, the first was: WARRIOR LABS SPARTAN 90 caps., EXP: 21.02.2020 (batch): 07651; the second piece was delivered without a label (however, the seller notified of this fact by e-mail), of which bottom part contained information: EXP: 21.02.2020 (batch): 07557.
Company WARRIOR LABS, 564 WedgeLn., Fernley, 89408 Nevada, the USA is the producer of the food supplement.
The foodstuff was assessed as harmful to human health. Unauthorised steroid substances with anabolic effect are associated with a range of harmful side effects on health and they must not be added either to foodstuffs or food supplements intended for sportspeople.
CAFIA recommends all consumers who may have the given lots of the foodstuff at home they do not eat it.
CAFIA will initiate an administrative procedure on imposition of a fine with the inspected person.
CAFIA notified the detection into the European Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed RASFF so that responsible authorities in the country of the seller took measures stopping sale of the non-compliant lots of the product.
