CAFIA closed down production of ready-made meals and public catering premises

01/28/2015

During the inspection carried out yesterday, the Czech Agriculture and Food Inspection Authority (CAFIA) closed down production of ready-made lunches to be delivered. The business was operated via the Internet (http://www.dobre-jidlo-na-rozvoz.cz). Premises of public catering CUKRÁRNA U Krtečka was also closed down. The reason was serious violation of hygiene.
During the inspection carried out 27th January 2015, CAFIA detected unacceptable hygiene conditions in the production premises Vladimír Piskáček with its seat on Sociální péče 3259/7 in Ústí nad Labem. The inspected person produced approximately 50 pieces of packaged ready-made meals – lunch menu every day. The meals were made in the kitchen corner which was not separated from private living premises in the flat (one room and kitchen) and in generally unacceptable conditions.
For example there was a fridge for storage of raw materials and finished products missing in the premises, the sink was used also for washing of home dishes. The equipment as well as the premises for preparation of meals were not appropriately adjusted to keep elementary hygiene conditions necessary for ensuring safe production of foodstuffs.
CUKRÁRNA U Krtečka based on Svatopluka Čecha 523/47 in Jablonec nad Nisou operated by Jana Žloutková was another closed premises.
With regard to the renovation and construction works, there was a risk of contamination of raw materials for production and areas intended for production of bakery, confectionary products and delicatessen products in the storage and partially producing area of the premises. Unfinished and insufficiently covered damaged walls and ceiling were found in the premises. Appropriate cleaning and sanitization of premises was impossible under the given conditions.
From the reasons mentioned above, CAFIA imposed measure in the form of a ban on the using of the premises until the detected deficiencies are removed. CAFIA will initiate an administrative procedure on imposition of a fine with both inspected persons.
