Other batches of baby food are free of patulin

The today's results of laboratory analyses performed by the Czech Agriculture and Food Inspection Authority did not prove the presence of patulin in other batches of the baby food produced by the company Deva, a.s., Nové Město nad Metují. The test results confirmed food safety of batches sold under the following labelling:
Hami, Apple mixed feeding (baby food), 190 gram jars, with date of production: 17.4.2002 and use-by-date: 17.4.2004, and furthermore, the product Fruit DEVA, apple baby food, 190-gram jars, with use-by-date: 03. 05.2004 and another use-by-date of the same product: 06.05.2004.

CAFIA performed laboratory analyses of samples of the products in question when patulin was detected in one of the batches in values four-times exceeding the admissible MRL, determined by the Ministry of Health for infants and small children.

All tests were carried out in the CAFIA accredited laboratories. Analyses of their samples of baby foods produced by the same manufacturer will be completed in next few days. We will bring information about their
