CAFIA introduces its new web site

07/25/2002

The Czech Agriculture and Food Inspection Authority has a new web site as from today. Its conception seeks to meet, above all, the requirements of general public. The address www.czpi.cz provides a number of useful information for the ordinary consumers: the latest results of inspections, findings of foodstuffs risky to human health and more news relating to other CAFIA activities. The visitors interested in more detailed information on food can be satisfied in columns such as ”Food Spot”, ”Chemical Substances in Food”, ”Food-Related Illnesses – Allergies and Intolerances” and further general advice – e.g. how to buy food products, how to get a good grasp of texts printed on food labels or why not to buy alcohol in the marketplaces. The consumers can learn about food adulterations or about how they can protect their interests from dishonest sellers. The web site also meets requirements of the businessmen who can learn in a clearly arranged site structure about their obligations in case they intend to carry on business in some of the food lines. There are various form sheets at their disposal, which can be downloaded directly from the web site, and also references to the present legislation relating to food issues.

There is also a lot of information referring directly to CAFIA, its organisational structure, activities and competences. CAFIA provides information about current vacancies, as well as contact addresses of the leading Czech and also world institutions and authorities that are associated with food and their safety.

The web site gives a possibility to its users to send off a suggestion for an inspection or also any comment. For better orientation the CAFIA web site is equipped with a full text search, which makes easy to find a requested piece of information. The individual sections will be gradually complemented with other information and news. All the information on the web site is also presented in the English version. Of course, this is not all, but instead of reading about the web site, it is better to visit it
