The “Hanácká” mineral water has not been contaminated with any strange chemical substance in the production process

11/15/2002

A detailed inspection that the Czech Agriculture and Food Inspection Authority carried out in the premises of the manufacturer of ”Hanácká” mineral water explicitly excluded that the mineral water in question might have been contaminated in the production process. The CAFIAI inspectors did not find out that the products from the same batch as the contaminated bottle circulate in the retail market trade network at present.

CAFIA informed yesterday afternoon, based on a report received from the Czech Police, about the case of a woman that had been hospitalised in Pardubice on 9 November with symptoms of cauterisation of the digestive tract. The woman is said to have chemically burnt the throat after having drunk ”Hanácká” mineral water, orange flavour, packed in 1.5 litre PET bottle, batch identification 250502/251102V. The origins of the product have not been explained yet.

The Czech Agriculture and Food Inspection Authority assure the consumers that the current findings give no reason for any fears whatsoever.
