05/18/2022

The inspectors of the Czech Agriculture and Food Inspection Authority (CAFIA) detected six food shipments of plant origin in which laboratory analysis confirmed presence of a cocktail of up to seven pesticide substances exceeding the permitted limits. The inspection was carried out in co-operation with the Prague-Ruzyně Customs Office. In two samples, the analysis confirmed use of very strong insecticide carbofuran, which has been banned by the EU since 2008 due to its undesirable effects.
