Warning to Customers: aflatoxins limits multiple exceeding in pistachio nuts

Serious limit exceeding for aflatoxins was confirmed by laboratory analysis of the Czech Agriculture and Food Inspection Authority (hereinafter CAFIA only) in foodstuff Pistachio nuts („Pistácie“) 200 g plastic package, best before 2/5/2014, country of origin Iran. Producer and vendor – COMPARE, spol..s r.o. with the seat in Moskevská 1e/1104, 73601 Havířov-Město. The product was immediately withdrawn in the whole ordered batch from the market and according to the order of CAFIA. The limit for aflatoxins is set by legislative provisions to 10 micrograms per kilogram, but analysis identified 575 micrograms per kilogram. According to vendor 16 kg have been already sold in its retail branch based on Orlovská 5/290, 73564 Havířov – Dolní Suchá. Other 84 kg was returned to supplier.
CAFIA recommends to all customers who purchased unsatisfactory batch not to consume it. Aflatoxins could damage human health especially after long term usage. Inspection Authority input notification to the European rapid alert system (RASFF).
