Concentrated 70% acetic acid interchangeable for beverage due to its design was delivered to the Czech Republic. Germany informed of this dangerous product from Lithuania through the Rapid Alert System of Food and Feed (RASFF) in the afternoon. The Czech Agriculture and Food Inspection Authority (CAFIA) started investigation immediately and inspectors are checking whether the product is on the market and consumers could have bought it.
The product in question is 70% acetic acid in 330 ml package, the producer is company ACTAS, AB, Naujoji g. 26, LT-17247 Jađiunai, Đačininku r., Lithuania, bar code 4 770211224194, best before 12/10/2012. The original package is labelled by words “MAISTINÉ ACTO 70% RűGĐTIS”.
According to the RASFF information, the product was delivered in dozens of pieces to local general stores in the Czech Republic.
CAFIA strongly warns against direct consumption of this product.
