08/09/2013

The Czech Agriculture and Food Inspection Authority (hereinafter CAFIA only) immediately closed down premises of Quen Nguyen Van based on náměstí Krále Vladislava 57 in Velvary, Central Bohemia. Inspection Authority detected extensive dirt incidents, plaster pieces falling from walls and ceiling, which could contaminate foodstuffs. Parts of the walls were humid from leaking water and walls in food warehouse were covered with huge black mildew. In the food store neither hot running water nor detergents for hand cleaning were present and store staff had no access to toilet. Outside the premises there was only unclean and in unsatisfactory conditions kept toilet available with no water.
Based on found unsatisfactory hygienic conditions the CAFIA stated serious breaches of Regulation (EC) 852/2004 on the hygiene of foodstuffs and imposed ban on the use of the store area. The premises operator was selling especially packed foodstuff, unpacked fruit and vegetable, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and cigarettes. The CAFIA will allow reopening of the food store after fulfillment of all legal demands in hygienic field on selling area and equipment. With the premises operator will be launched an administrative sanction procedure.
