The 2016 European Union Report on Pesticide Residues in Food


This report provides an overview of the 2016 official control activities carried out in the European Union (EU) Member States, Iceland and Norway. It summarises the results of both the 2016 EU-coordinated control programme (EUCP) and the results of national control programmes (NP). While the

national control programmes are mostly risk based – focussing on pesticides or products originating from countries where an increased number of violations have been observed in the past – the EUCP aims to present a statistically representative snapshot of the situation of pesticide residues in food

products that are the most widely consumed in the EU. The report includes the outcome of a dietary risk assessment based on the results of the 2016 control programme.
