Risky Spanish cucumbers were also delivered to the CR

Cucumbersfrom Spain suspected of being contaminated with Escherichia coli bacteria enterohemorrhagic have been delivered also to the Czech Republic in recent days. It is a salad bio-cucumber from a German supplier. The Czech Agriculture and Food Inspection Authority received that message a few minutes ago from the German side through the Rapid Alert System RASFF. The Czech Republic has not reported any case of infection yet.

Cucumberswere delivered to Czech company Country Life Ltd., Nenačovice, Beroun. According to the Germans, cucumbers were also distributed to Hungary, Austria and Luxembourg.

The CAFIA Headquartersordered for tomorrow morning special inspection and sampling in company Country Life and has further instructed to impose a ban on circulation on the product lot in question and to withdraw it immediately if these cucumbers are still in stores. CAFIA will also write up a list of customers which will serve the hygienist for monitoring of the epidemiological situation.
