The Czech Agriculture and Food Inspection Authority (hereinafter “CAFIA” only) detected higher proportion of water than permitted by relevant legislation in chilled meat products put into circulation by Tesco Stores ČR a.s. and Globus CR k.s. Namely, following lots are concerned:

TESCO Krůtí prsní řízek, spodní filet (Turkish breast - lower fillet), packaged á 0.500 kg, lot: 1013371, produced for: Tesco Stores CR a.s., country of origin: Poland. Producer according to accompanying documentation: INDROL sp. Z o. o., Rostarzewo, Poland. Product was sampled at premises of Tesco Stores CR a.s., Kafkova 8, Olomouc.

Kuřecí prsní řízky bez kůže a kostí čerstvé, chlazené (poultry breast fillets without skin and bones, fresh, chilled), packaged á 0.76 kg, date of production: 30.9.2013, producer: RES-DROB 35-211 Rzeszow. Country of origin according to accompanying documentation: Poland. Product was sampled at premises of Globus CR, k.s., Chlumecká 765/6, Prague.

The above mentioned unsatisfactory foodstuffs were sampled by CAFIA within an action focused on quality and safety of meat products. This action was ordered by Minister of Agriculture Miroslav Toman and inspection authorities subordinate to the Ministry took part in.

CAFIA further revealed misleadingly labelled foodstuff Vitae d´Oro, Drůběží paštika (poultry pâté) packaged á 130 g, best-before-date by 21. 5. 2015 sold by Kaufland CR v.o.s., country of origin according to accompanying documentation: Poland. Product was unsatisfactory due to the content of meat. The producer states on the labelling: content of poultry meat – at least 50%. Laboratory analysis showed that the product contained 29.2% of meat. The foodstuff is labelled with misleading information and that is why the Inspection Authority banned to put the lot in question into circulation. The sample was taken at premises of Hoang Nguyen Thai, Císařská 75, Brodek u Prostějova, distributor and seller was CR is Kaufland CR v.o.s.

Administrative procedure on imposition of a fine will be initiated with the inspected persons.
