The frozen cream has the notice “could contain trace amount of other dry fruit wall shells and peanuts” on its package. Laboratory tests confirmed presence of peanuts in the amount of 252mg/kg which c. ten times exceeded the acceptable limit for the trace amount. Peanuts are very significant allergens and therefore the unintentional consumption by an allergic person could cause serious health complications. In accordance with Regulation No. 178/2004 the foodstuff is unsafe. The product is being withdrawn from shops and stores nowadays, and the seller informs consumers about that on his web portal. 18 240 pieces in total were supplied to the Czech Republic.
Last year, the same product already failed to meet the identical parameter. By then the analysis proved even five times higher amount of peanuts - 1 251mg/kg and the Inspection Authority ordered its withdrawal from retail network.
