Polish biscuits could contain poison, distribution to the Czech Republic confirmed

The Czech Republic received an information from Poland that confectionery products from company Magnolia Sp. z o.o. based in Transportowa 3, Lubsko 68-300, Poland, could be contaminated with unsafe foreign matter. The notification was received from the Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed and stated that granules looking like rat poison were found in one of the ingredients – powder milk. According to the information provided by the producer, one of the recipients of potentially contaminated products is also Kaufland Česká republika, v.o.s.  
Based on the above mentioned facts, the Czech Agriculture and Food Inspection Authority (hereinafter “CAFIA” only) ordered Kaufland Česká republika, v.o.s. to withdraw immediately foodstuff wafer roll Stilla Dolce Cocoa Rolls in package 2 x 50 g, best before date 4.7.2013 and 8.8.2013 made by the producer in question. At the present time, Kaufland, v.o.s. has withdrawn 722 pieces of biscuits from stores and further 2,070 pieces have been detained in storages.
CAFIA strongly recommends that consumers do not consume the product in question.
