The Czech Agriculture and Food Inspection Authority ordered to withdraw from the circulation product “Pine nuts seeds” (product weight 50 g, best before date 25. 4. 2011, lot identification L011) originating from China. CAFIA inspectors found out that an unpleasant bitter taste appears in the mouth after ingesting this food. This taste persists for several days and increases especially when consuming any other food. Then it fades away by itself.
IBK TRADE Company, which had purchased raw material for the product “Pine nuts seeds” from company RHUMVELD WINTER & KONIJN B. V., the Netherlands, is the producer of the food. IBK TRADE has supplied the product “Pine nuts seeds” to SPAR Czech Company Ltd. in the amount of 108 kg.
Due to the long expiration date, consumers might still have the “Pine nuts seeds” at home. The Inspection Authority does not recommend its consumption.
The information about the case was entered into the EU Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed.
