Mobile application of Food Pillory informs also on closed premises

Overview of premises closed by the Czech Agriculture and Food Inspection Authority (CAFIA) due to serious hygiene violation can be newly found also via mobile application of the Food Pillory. Users can search on interactive map using icon “Find the Nearest” which finds non-compliant premises in the surroundings of the consumer by means of GPS module. Tile arrangement is further option how the premises are sorted according to the most topical record. Consumers can find all information necessary for identification of the premises, i.e. address, name on the shop sign, dates when the premises were closed down and re-opened, detailed description of the violation and photo documentation. Using this application, consumers can submit a suggestion directly from the retail as the GPS module is able to distinguish which CAFIA Inspectorate shall be referred to with the suggestion.

Mobile application of the Food Pillory was launched as extension of the Food Pillory website which informs consumers of detection of unsafe, adulterated and poor-quality foodstuffs, and closed premises running catering services, production and sale of foodstuffs. Since 2013 more than 53 thousand users have installed this application, out of whom 33 thousand to mobile phones and tablets with Android OP, 13 thousand are iPhone users and 7 thousand of Windows Phone users.
