Makro had to withdraw from sale two batches of smoked salmon

Makro Cash & Carry ČR had to withdraw from sale OCEAN QUEEN Irish Smoked Sliced Salmon, batches of 150 g, use-by date: 8 and 12 February 2007. Laboratory analyses of this salmon determined the presence of Listeria monocytogenes.

The Czech Agriculture and Food Inspection Authority on 1 February ordered Makro to withdraw the product from sale because there was a suspicion that it was not safe. This suspicion was confirmed on 5 February when laboratory analyses were completed.
