Inspection showed quality of honey produced by Czech beekeepers

04/29/2016

Following recent problems with quality and safety of honeys produced by certain Czech producers, the Czech Agriculture and Food Inspection Authority (CAFIA) carried out a targeted screening inspection activity during which samples through the whole market network were taken, thus both at big and smaller retailers. Comprehensive analysis of quality including analysis focused on presence of antibiotics in samples did not prove violation of legal requirements of any of the assessed parameters.

The screening of honeys sold in retail network showed perfect quality of domestic production and efficiency of measures taken after detection of recent problems associated with this commodity. CAFIA will continue with performance of continuous inspections of honey in retails.
