The Czech Agriculture and Food Inspection Authority (hereinafter CAFIA only) on May 15, 2013 for numerous violation of hygienic rules closed down premises of SPAR Česká obchodní společnost s.r.o. based on Plumlovská 456/32, 796 01 Prostějov. During its inspection CAFIA found rodents‘ excrements and eaten foodstuffs in the store area and in the storehouse. One dead mouse was found in the storehouse. Traces of rodents’ presence were also detected on shelves with confectionaries and food for children. CAFIA stated that the Regulation (EC) 852/2004 was violated and in compliance with Act No. 146/2002 Coll. immediately imposed ban on the use of the area of the store. The Inspection Authority ordered to undertake rodents’ extermination, to adopt appropriate measures of the pest control and to provide general cleaning of the store area and the facilities area. Moreover, CAFIA forbid selling any products with traces of rodents.
For the malpractices mentioned, the Inspection Authority will launch an administrative sanction procedure.
