Inspection Authority closed down shop in Hrabišín because of vast occurrence of pests

01/14/2013

Serious violation of hygiene requirements for sale of foodstuffs was detected by the Czech Agriculture and Food Inspection Authority (hereinafter “CAFIA” only) in retail premises of Phu Nguyen based in Hrabišín 49, 78804 Hrabišín near Zábřeh. During the inspection carried out on 9th January 2013, a large amount of mouse excrements was found by the Inspection Authority on the floor and under the counters. Mouse excrements were detected also directly among foodstuffs in the storage where CAFIA documented few kinds of goods with fouled packages. It was particularly the case of rape and sunflower oil. Moreover, the sale of the foodstuffs with expired use-by-date and violation of other responsibilities of the food business operator were found by the Inspection Authority.
Due to the above mentioned detections, the Inspection Authority imposed a ban on using the premises and ordered to withdraw in total 16 kinds of foodstuffs. The food business operator subsequently called a specialized company which exterminated the shop and the storage. The ban was lifted after the Inspection Authority checked that the imposed measures had been fulfilled. Administrative procedure will be initiated with the food business operator.
