Inspection Authority closed down food store in Nová Ves due to presence of rodents

The Czech Agriculture and Food Inspection Authority (hereinafter CAFIA only) imposed ban on the use of the food store of Radek Petr based on Nová Ves 38, 27752 Nová Ves na Mělnicku for violation of numerous hygienic requirements. During its inspection on 22nd April 2013 CAFIA found large amount of mouse excrements and dead rodents. The store operator was not able to submit sufficient documentation on implemented rodent control and CAFIA noted that accepted measures for rodent control are not adequate.

CAFIA in compliance with Act No. 146/2002 Coll. immediately closed down the premises because its area failed to comply with the conditions enabling maintenance of food safety. Moreover, CAFIA ordered the store operator to undertake general cleaning of the premises including shelfs and provide specialised rodent extermination.

For the malpractices mentioned, the Inspection Authority will launch an administrative sanction procedure.
