The Czech Agriculture and Food Inspection Authority ordered to withdraw product Jádra lískových ořechů neloupaná – Hazelnut kernels non-peeled (packaging à 200g, best before: 30 September 2009, batch identification: L 66072) from circulation. Presence of mould detected by CAFIA inspectors was the reason for this.

2400 packagings of this foodstuff were distributed into the trade network. In this moment, these hazelnuts originating in Germany are already withdrawn from the market. However, consumers might still have them at home considering the best before date and the mould does not have to be clearly visible on the surface of nuts.
